Scenario One

This scenario is based on the Dr Haneef case. A person locked up without charge breaches several well established human rights, such as knowing the charges against you and humane treatment in detention. A Charter would encourage the Government to make clear to the public and the Parliament that the law breaches these human rights and explain why it is needs to pass laws which do so.
